TITLE: Darkness, Flooded In Light
FANDOM: Thor (movie)
RATING: R
SUMMARY: “When much is taken, something is returned.” - Terry Pratchett, Nation
Loki falls. Injured and unable to access his magic, he must struggle to restore himself physically and mentally before the Bifrost is repaired and Asgard comes to find him. That alone would be difficult enough, but some of Asgard’s deepest secrets have followed him...
CATEGORY: Angst, AU, Fix-it, Hurt/Comfort
AUTHOR’S NOTE: The title comes from the song ‘Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise’ by the Avett Brothers, specifically from the lines “There’s a darkness upon me that’s flooded in light / In the fine print they tell me what’s wrong and what’s right.”
WARNING: This story deals with the recovery from trauma and includes a few of the many ways people develop to deal with that, so it may be triggering or upsetting to read depending on your background. I have tried to be both sensitive and realistic, but if I’ve gotten anything wrong please let me know. Also, Chapter 16 may be upsetting for parents.

Beta credit goes to the incomparable Xparrot, who deserves flowers and candy and the Norse deity of her choice for getting me through this monster!

RATING: R for language and discussion of homophobia
SUMMARY: The last person Andrew’s expecting to see standing on his front porch is Burt freaking Hummel.
CATEGORY: Angst
SPOILERS: Mild for “Blame it on the Alcohol”. Intended as a missing scene for “Sexy”.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: I tried to write this story as perceptively as possible, but I do discuss some sensitive issues here. If you feel I’ve done it badly, please please please explain to me where I’ve gone wrong and how to fix it. This story isn’t meant to be offensive and if it comes across that way I want to know so I can adjust it.
DISCLAIMER: On a scale of One to Not Mine, these characters are Not Mine. They belong to a lot of terribly important and official people who work for big companies and get salaries and basically aren’t me. Suing me for copyright infringement would be pointless and unprofitable, I swear. A moose once bit my sister.

RATING: PG-13 for language
SUMMARY: As co-captain of Glee and more importantly as its most talented member it is clearly up to Rachel to solve this Kurt situation.
CATEGORY: Gen, Rachel- and Kurt-centric
SPOILERS: Skips merrily down the AU path around about the middle of 'Furt' and refers to but doesn't spoil 'Special Education'.

SUMMARY: Clearly, Jack never watched any movies where the AI goes crazy and tries to take over the world.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This was written for round 4.04 of the [livejournal.com profile] writerinadrawer challenge, in which participants are given prompts and must complete stories within the allotted word count. The stories are then posted anonymously and voted on. The losers of each round are 'put in a drawer' from which they may not participate in subsequent rounds, and the winners get to feel very clever.

SUMMARY: Torchwood - outside the government, yes, and beyond the police, certainly... but there are other authorities that not even Jack Harkness can escape.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This was written for round 4.02 of the [livejournal.com profile] writerinadrawer challenge, in which participants are given prompts and must complete stories within the allotted word count. The stories are then posted anonymously and voted on. The losers of each round are 'put in a drawer' from which they may not participate in subsequent rounds, and the winners get to feel very clever.

This story has been heavily altered since I posted it for the challenge, because that original story was frankly quite bad and I felt I could do better if I tried. This is the end result - it no longer conforms to the word count limit (300 words) and one of the prompts has been left on the cutting room floor (inclusion of two words in a foreign language, which I badly mishandled in the original). In fact, the only thing remaining from the original challenge is the prompt 'Things that go bump in the night'.

Bloody Torchwood

ETA: Somehow, when I first posted this, the old version of the story was successfully resisting being altered and the updated version vanished into the ether. It should now be fixed, and the good version of the story should now be in place.

Demons, I tell you! This story is possessed by freaking demons!

CATEGORY: Angst, hurt/comfort
SUMMARY: Jack has an epiphany. Fifth season.
SPOILERS: None.
WARNING: None.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: The idea for this story came to me while I was watching ‘Finding Nemo’ with LimeKid and Flyakate, and is another example of why I will never understand the way my brain works, as this story has absolutely nothing to do with anything in ‘Finding Nemo’. It even mostly takes place in a desert, which is about as un-‘Finding Nemo’ as you can get. Nevertheless, to ‘Finding Nemo’ the credit must go.

SUMMARY: An AU look at the year 1974. What if Jack and Daniel were neighbors?
SPOILERS: None - it's an AU! Okay, okay - Gamekeeper and Crystal Skull.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This story has taken longer to write than any story I've ever written - even my English assignments! Thanks to Lorien for giving me a home at the Grove, to my listsibs Tricia and Barb for the idea and the encouragement (read: harassment ;-), to Angelheart for making sure Jack had the right credentials (which I then exercised poetic license all over - it's not her fault!), and to MK and LimeKid, as always, for listening. To Wallis Budge for the translation of the Book of the Dead which Daniel recites (yeah, yeah, sacrilege, I know). Oh, and you may have noticed that I have ignored the existence of the Vietnam War. This was entirely intentional. It didn't fit with my story, therefore it did not happen. So there. (Well, it's an AU, isn't it?).
