SUMMARY: There was once, in the country of Chup, a silent city, the silentest of cities, a city so ruinously silent that it had forgotten its stories...
AUTHOR'S NOTES: Written for Taabe for the Yuletide challenge. TheWhiteRose3 wrote me the haunting Eureka story Four Days for the same challenge, which you should definitely go check out!

TITLE: The Morning After
FANDOM: Saiyuki
RATING: R for language
SUMMARY: They’re a pretty sorry bunch by the time they stagger through Homura’s doorway and back into the Tower.
WARNINGS: Well, it’s Saiyuki, which should probably be warning enough. Otherwise: language, violence, divine meddling.
CATEGORY: Episode tag, Hurt/Comfort, Angst.
SPOILERS: Takes place right after Journey to the West in the first season.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: My approach to chi in this story would probably make Hakkai ask me what I’ve been smoking and if Gojyo can have some. It’s pretty much the life-force version of pseudo-science.
DISCLAIMER: On a scale of One to Not Mine, these characters are Not Mine. They belong to a lot of terribly important and official people who work for big companies and get salaries and basically aren’t me. Suing me for copyright infringement would be pointless and unprofitable, I swear. A demon once bit my sister.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: I tried to write this story as perceptively as possible, but I do discuss some sensitive issues here. If you feel I’ve done it badly, please please please explain to me where I’ve gone wrong and how to fix it. This story isn’t meant to be offensive and if it comes across that way I want to know so I can adjust it.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: I always try for in-character and realistic, but I'll be the first to admit that this story is all about wish fulfillment. I wanted to see a little of that late-first-season Glee friendship and teamwork in this episode, so I went ahead and made some.

Dear Jack
galaxysoup: (HanSoloOMGWTF)
FANDOM: Torchwood
RATING: PG
CATEGORY: Challenge, Humour
SUMMARY: Torchwood - outside the government, yes, and beyond the police, certainly... but there are other authorities that not even Jack Harkness can escape.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This was written for round 4.02 of the [livejournal.com profile] writerinadrawer challenge, in which participants are given prompts and must complete stories within the allotted word count. The stories are then posted anonymously and voted on. The losers of each round are 'put in a drawer' from which they may not participate in subsequent rounds, and the winners get to feel very clever.

This story has been heavily altered since I posted it for the challenge, because that original story was frankly quite bad and I felt I could do better if I tried. This is the end result - it no longer conforms to the word count limit (300 words) and one of the prompts has been left on the cutting room floor (inclusion of two words in a foreign language, which I badly mishandled in the original). In fact, the only thing remaining from the original challenge is the prompt 'Things that go bump in the night'.

Bloody Torchwood

ETA: Somehow, when I first posted this, the old version of the story was successfully resisting being altered and the updated version vanished into the ether. It should now be fixed, and the good version of the story should now be in place.
